Our deep bodied moderate framed Hereferds are the base for our South Poll composite. These Herefords are efficient producers that raise a good calf and breed back every year. These Herefords are the result of years and years of breeders with names like Jones, Felton, Trask, Wilson, Fowler, Douglas, Bennetts, and Crane (to mention just a few).

In our opinion there will always be a need for good pure-bred genetics; the reason these breeders have had success is because they produce a product the commercial cattleman could use. At BTF we work hard to carry on their work by continuing to blend these bloodlines into a slick haired, deep bodied, good uddered mama cow.

We have put a lot of time into breeding Herefords that are right for the southeastern production of beef. Hereford bulls that have real thickness and guts (heart girth), females that are easy keepers off grass and efficient mama cows. So whether you are a pure bred or commercial breeder come by and see for yourself what we believe is a herd of Herefords that will work for both.
